AGV-4/1000 Automatic Comparator for Determination of Mass Standard’s Density and Volume
The AGV-4/1000 automatic comparator determines density and volume of mass standards of class E1 and lower in accordance with OIML R111. It is characterized by the highest accuracy and measurement stability ranging between 1g and 1kg.
The AGV-4/1000 automatic comparator enables density determination to be carried out simultaneously for 3 mass standards using one reference weight.
The comparator features specially designed feeder to load and unload the magazine with mass standards. The device is equipped with an additional circulator eliminating air bubbles and a top-class liquid temperature sensor of 0.001 ˚C accuracy. A weighing pan suspended on wires eliminates the eccentricity and minimizes the influence of liquid surface tension.
Dedicated software enables to determine mass standards density and calculate uncertainty using A method according to OIML R111. It also allows to determine (verify) liquid density.
AVK-1000 Automatic Vacuum Mass Comparator
AVK-1000 automatic vacuum mass comparator is intended for national metrological institutes that transport and maintain the national reference mass standard of 1 kg.
The comparator is intended for weighing mass standards and silicone spheres of 100 mm diameter. It enables comparison of up to 6 prototypes of max 1kg mass. The repeatability of the process is of 0.3 µg and readability of d = 0.1 µg.
A specially designed vacuum chamber enables carrying out measurements in a vacuum of 10-6 mBar capacity or in atmosphere containing noble gases.
AVK-1000 is equipped with suspended weighing pan that eliminates eccentricity errors.
Standard version of the mass comparator features thermo-hygro-barometer for testing ambient conditions with great accuracy: pressure of 0.001hPa, humidity of 0.01% and temperature of 0.001 °C.
The comparator is also equipped with high quality vacuum gauge.
The AVK-1000 vacuum mass comparator can be equipped with the LOAD LOCK system for carrying mass standards. The system enables switching or adding artefacts without changing the atmosphere inside the main chamber. With the use of a special chamber for mass standards switching the whole process is 90% shorter.
During mass standards replacement carried out without the use of the LOAD LOCK system, the air enters the main chamber of the mass comparator. After each opening of the chamber it is necessary to pump the air out in order to obtain required vacuum value. The vacuum mass comparator needs approx. 48 hours in order to obtain vacuum that ensures measurement repeatability.
The LOAD LOCK is equipped with a high-efficiency pump system, the time of pumping the air out in order to enable opening of the valve of the main chamber is significantly shortened. The stabilization of the main chamber after replacing/adding the mass standard and closing the valve connecting the main chamber and the LOAD LOCK system takes 5 hours.
The high-quality vacuum gauges enable monitoring and comparing the vacuum value in order to determine the moment when opening the valve again and replacing the mass standard is available. A specially designed viewfinder enables monitoring of the process.
The LOAD LOCK enables switching objects of dimensions adapted to the AVK-1000 mass comparator: cylindrical mass standards of 22-95 mm diameter and silicone spheres of 40-100 mm diameter. Supplementing the AVK-1000
vacuum mass comparator with LOAD LOCK system significantly improves the comparison performance.
PMV 50 Moisture Analyzer
PMV 50 moisture analyzer is an advanced solution for measurement of moisture content of samples containing significant amount of moisture (8-100%). The drying process is carried out by means of microwaves which enable to evenly heat the whole sample’s volume. The PMV 50, when compared to standard moisture analyzers, significantly shortens the drying time.
The PMV 50 microwave moisture analyzer can be successfully used wherever materials containing large amounts of water are dried, for example: dairy products, fish, meat, fruit products, syrups, creams, liquid resin.
The sample is placed in the drying chamber on a glass fibre filter. At the bottom of the chamber there is one end of the waveguide from where the microwaves are emitted. Upon process start, microwaves are equally distributed on the filter’s surface and dry the sample. The moisture content is determined on the basis of the mass loss obtained during drying.
A respective drying program is selected depending on sample mass and its chemical composition. The average duration of this process depends on the type and mass of used substance, and takes 1 to 10 minutes. In contrast, drying using the traditional halogen moisture analyzer takes 5 to 40 minutes.
The PMV 50 microwave moisture analyzer is equipped with a temperature sensor and enables to monitor device power in order to prevent exceeding the boiling point during the process. A preset microwave power is displayed on the indicator throughout the drying procedure.

The PMV 50 moisture analyzer is based on an advanced-class Y series system intended for laboratory balances. Expanded 32 GB memory enables saving and storing sophisticated reports and time and statistical graphs. Wireless communication improves ergonomics and operation safety. Wi-Fi® enables sending data between the moisture analyzer and a mobile device. Large 5.7’’ touch screen guarantees comfort of operation. Proximity sensors ensure touch-free access to user-specified operations.
For each purchase of the PMV 50 moisture analyzer the customer is supplied with:
– 50 glass fibre filters of ø 90 mm,
– a sample of sodium chloride 10% to determine correctness of the operation at the workstation,
– a service concerning determination of drying parameters for five customer-selected samples carried out by RADWAG employee.

Smart system of pressures equalization guarantees stable measurement. It eliminates errors generated by rapid change of pressure inside the weighing chamber.
Integrated Antistatic Ionizer
The antistatic ionizer, with which XA 4Y.M.A PLUS microbalance is equipped, neutralizes electric charges inside the weighing chamber upon placing the sample in it. The ionizer neutralizes uncompensated electric charge accumulated on weighed object. The lower relative humidity and a reading unit of the balance, the more evident influence of static electricity. The influence of static electricity gives greater repeatability error, often also greater error of indication.
Measurement errors, due to the harmful effects of electrostatics, often reach the value of thousands of reading units and more. The problem concerns non-conductive samples, e.g. glass flasks, paper filters, plastics, etc.
Antistatic ionizer implemented in XA 4Y.M.A PLUS microbalances, due to the application of modern technology, compensates both cations and anions. The ionizer activates when the microbalance door opens, and deactivates when the door is closed. It is possible to control ionizer operation using weighing instrument panel. The operation is signalled by blue LED diode which emits light when the ionizer is on.
